Catapults & Tea.... is a plea to help get me to London!
I have managed to secure an internship with wonderful theatre company one step at a time like this and be a witness and participant of their production 'En Route'. Their show will be touring to the London Festival this year as a part of the Cultural Olympiad, and I have an opportunity to be involved in the creative development of the show.
This is a great opportunity for me to be exposed to the inner workings of an established theatre company and further develop my skills and knowledge as a young, emerging theatre maker.
More specifically, I am hoping to bring my skills, knowledge and ideas back to Brisbane and create a new work with a community group here. Partnering with community organisation The Hive, I hope to develop a city tour that explores the relationship between Brisbane City and the people who truly inhabit it; drawing on the direct experiences of some of this city's most marginalised people.
I am passionate about working with communities who have stories they want to share; and creating contemporary theatre works that challenge our every day perceptions. For more information on previous projects that I have worked on, please venture here.
I am seeking funds to assist my accommodation and travel costs to London and appreciate all the support I can get.
