Hello my name is Gallie.
I'm a singer songwriter from Ireland now living in Melbourne Australia.
My passion is songwriting, and I love it.
I love it's many facets. I love that its so bloody hard, sometimes you have to drag a song kicking and screaming into existence then other times they pop into your head like some casual random thought. You must then nourish them and encourage them, until they grow into an entity onto themselves and they become like children ready to be released out into the world. And best of all (not always) they get sung back to you by people you don't even know, who seem to love them as much as you.
There is no feeling like it in the world.
I've been writing intensely for the last few years and have now got a substantial amount of songs to choose from for this album.
A couple of years ago I got to the finals in the "International Songwriting Competition" judged by Tom Waits amongst others.I got to the final fifteen, this was out of sixteen thousand entries. This really gave me a massive confidence boost. Since then I've had a couple of Australian artists record some of my songs, which is such a hugh compliment and a great endorsement, especially as these guys are great songwriters in their own right.
I'm now ready to record an album of my own. I've done some recordings before but I've never released anything, as things never seem to line up right.
But now I'm ready, I got some ripper songs and some great musicians to record with, the only problem is I'm skint.
Which is why I'm doing a fund it campaign. Basically I'm selling the album before it's recorded. I'm hoping to get as many of you guys, friends, family members, people who enjoy my music to pledge whatever you can to help finance this project. When I reach the target, the funds will be released and then I'm straight into the studio to start recording. As soon as its done you get a copy in the mail.

My initial budget comes in just over twenty grand.
This is using the studio I want, the musicians I want, and the producer I want.

Twenty thousand dollars is a lot of money. Realistically I don't think I could raise that amount. I have no idea how much I can raise, but I'm going to try for three quarters of that amount.
Fifteen thousand dollars.
This is also a crazy amount of money. But if I don't reach my target I get nothing.
I think I can reach fifteen. If we go over the target - the more money comes in - the better record I can make.
