Through the Eyes of our Children
What is Through the Eyes of Our Children?
Building on previous shows and experiences,Through the Eyes of Our Children is the next step in Losts Fews vision in creating unique events.
Using four main elements, dance, sound, vision and performance,Through the Eyes of Our Children will take you through a creation of beauty and what its deconstruction and eventual chaos might mean. In other words, we will attempt to take you on a fairly messed up journey.
Artists:
Dave Thomson - Sound Design/Video Art/Director
Thomson’s distinctive approach to sound, video and technical ability has been described as “cabalistic, ominous, organic yet captivating” (TEA and Techno, 2012). This has lead him to work on projects such as Electric Forest(Beijing), Into the Red Music and Art (Big West Festival, Melbourne), Activating the White Pelvis(Fringe Festival, Melbourne) and currently DART: the movie. He also features monthly on Underground Bangkok Radio and produces event series Deep Cuts.
Luke Rogers - Performer/Puppetry/Installation
Luke Rogers is the Artistic Director of Frater Creative, producing live performance, parade puppetry, installation art and workshops for various regional festivals. He studied a Diploma of Theatre Arts at the University of Ballarat and is a current graduate of professional acting at Verve Studios. His most recent work was as Helene the transvestite sex worker in Geoffrey Williams’ Activating the Dead White Pelvis, directed by Peta Hanrahan for Melbourne Fringe.
For Through the Eyes of Our Children Luke is using spatial form to trigger an installation of the ugly. But is it really ugly, when blended with beauty?
Georgina Thompson - Dancer/Performer/Choreographer
Thompson is a trained artistic gymnast as well as a contemporary and jazz ballet dancer. She is currently finishing a degree in teaching, majoring in dance and performance. Georgina's combination of multiple art forms, including award winning cheer routines, allows for a unique approach to inter-disciplinary performance.
