THANKS TO ALL WHO DONATED! WE SURPASSED OUR GOAL OF COVERING THE PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE AND RAISED ENOUGH TO COVER ALL THE COSTS OF HOLDING THIS EVENT! IT WAS A REALLY SUCCESSFUL EVENT - THANK YOU!.

The Original Town Hall are now taking donations for our upcoming Festival of Possibilities and the project at large on our website.

UPDATE Tues 16 Sept: The Council put us in touch with Local Community Insurance Services today who quoted us much less at $390 to insure our event. Yay! We've almost reached that new goal. Can you help us get there? Anything above that will go to reimbursing other generous individuals for this event and helping to continue exploring this concept further!

The Original Town Hall is an ambitious idea. It is a dream: a place and a grand concept. We have a dream to rejuvenate the Town Hall and its surrounds, and to create a thriving place for people to love and connect with. We envisage a café / restaurant / bar with recreational facilities and even on-site accommodation like no other, where locals, Adelaideans and visitors enjoy an immersive experience that connects community and history. The Original Town Hall will be created and owned by the community, and the profits it realises will go to back to those who made it possible.

We're holding a Community Day on Saturday 20 September 2014 from 11am-4pm on the site to give the community a taste of what is possible and ask them to dream with us and contribute their ideas! We're all set to go with so many people volunteering their time and skills. We've got live art and music, community facilitators, face painting, food, coffee, photo booth, and more!

But we need $20 million public liability insurance!

We're not an organisation, a company, or a legal entity. We're just a group of community members putting on event and providing an exciting opportunity for other community members. We've already invested a lot of time and effort, and some of our personal finances into exploring this concept and organising this community day. The council won't cover our event with their insurance and the cheapest quote we've been given is $830

Will you you help us make this event possible?

How The Funds Will Be Used

Any money up to $830 will allow us to cover our Public Liability Insurance for the day.

If we exceed this goal, the money will go to reimbursing our team for the money they are spending on the event for BBQ and coffee materials, etc- up to about $400.

If we exceed $1200 with this pozible campaign we will put this money towards furthering the development of a sustainable business plan for this site. For example we might:
- hire a business consultant
- pay for a videographer to make a short film about our story and plans
- organise another community day (fully insured of course!)
