Suspended Account

A$4,400
of $4,000 targetyrs ago
Successful on 26th Dec 2015 at 2:36AM.
Ok folks,
You know I wouldn't hit you up unless I had to, but it's either that or pay the banks back at 22% per annum.
Since 1988, which is quite a while now, gulp, I have occasionally penned tunes, both by myself and with others, including some pop, some dance and some much quieter, more ballad-like songs.
Two decades on and not a moment too soon for sanity, I bring you my first-ever release (there'll be 2 made): one, this first one I am asking you humbly to fund here, called Suspended Account' (aren't all songs?), is a humble mix of late-night loss and other slow pieces.  (The second, which I will launch another campaign for soon, will feature 4 tracks that are decidedly more pop-ish, perky n bright.)
Recorded over the past 14 months in basic digital format at my home already (think Apogee and Garageband), the money you are being asked to part with is to ensure some great recording and production by seasoned pros (see below for their sites).
All of you generous, donating-folk will get a CD posted to your (provided) address and some quality sound files for you to download too.
Anyone donating over $100 will be cordially invited to a home-cooked meal over a vino on my rather sumptuous balcony and a proper chance to tell me exactly what you really think of it all.
If you'd like a bit more bang for your buck than that listed above then, please, do suggest something else in return: other than that I spring out of a birthday cake with tassels on. (Although if you provide half my total costs...hmmmm, let me think about that...)

How The Funds Will Be Used

These funds will be used for the first of 2 EPS (of 4 tracks each): both very different styles of music. (I will launch a separate fundraiser soon for the second project.)

This first one tat I am humbly requesting you to fund is of spacious, quiet songs recorded and produced by multi-instrumentalist, engineer, songwriter, singer and all-round lovely guy, Christian Pyle, who will be making it all happen at his gorgeous north-coast studio, Prawn & Spanner Productions.  Please do go straight to checking out Christian's stuff here at his site: http://www.christianpyle.com/home
(Am rather fond of the song made with his band (Acre), called 'Fourteen Fifty' and his album, Nothing Left To Burn is bloody lovely too.)

The other (4 songs), to be funded separately in a different campaign, are more pop-oriented, perky n bright, somewhat danceable numbers and will be employing the talent of some of Sydney's finest players (like Rick Ballan and Cameron Undy) and are to be Produced in Sydney with two different Producers: Marc Scully of Studio 57 (see his site: Studio 57 & Marc Scully) and independent Sony/ATV Producer, Barbara Griffin, see her site: Barbara Griffin

The funds will be spent at the rate of $4000 per EP on total costs for the studio facilities and mixing, musicians' hire fees plus production and (Aus Post) distribution of CDs.

The Challenges

Challenges to the project's completion?
Only my untimely death: if that accidentally occurs I imagine I will have some difficulty making the record.
Other than that, I shall be releasing it in the first third of 2016.
