A message from our Village…
WE have come from afar but call Australia home. Our belongings left behind and in our travels, we carried an essence of life that cannot be measured. An essence that was passed down from our elders and ancestors beyond.
In our village, being mature aged, a mother or an elder is not a disadvantage or a liability – instead an honour, a privilege. We have much love to share and our values run deep.
So we are converging, to bring to life a space where we can keep our traditions alive, where you can learn our home-style ethnic cuisine, and we show the world what we can bring to the table.The Cooking School
Our community enterprise will be based in the heart of Melbourne, on the Fitzroy Public Housing Estate. The enterprise values and supports workforce diversity with its inclusion of culturally and linguistically diverse, mature age and senior citizens.

About Me
Hi I'm Diana Jurik and I am in love with my little village. Growing up at 'The Flats' meant I belonged to the most exciting and vibrant community in Melbourne. It also meant I witnessed and experienced much of the hardships residents would face with community and workforce participation. All this inspired a dream to start a cooking school run by our resident elders.
My background is in Environmental Consulting and Hospitality. I am a big believer that despite our circumstances by pitching together, we can create easy solutions to build Heaven On Earth. Connect with me on LinkedIn and Twitter.
