'The Silence Came' is an original immersive theatrical production on three
levels of 150 year old inner city house. The audience are in control of where to go and
what to see, as they choose to move throughout the house watching the characters they want and following the narrative that interests them. The audience wander from room to room and sit in the set of small apartments as the actors and the scene engulf them.
The lives of 14 characters in one large house are laid bare in an intimate spectacle, lives which depend upon the decisions
of the onlookers. All it takes for
immorality to reign is the absence of hope to sustain.
This is
as up close and personal as theatre gets, where the witness could have played
the most important part. Come inside and see who it could be.
The central idea is based on the bystander effect, the notion that the
only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do
nothing. Who will just sit back and watch ?
This work has been developed by a passionate group of 14 actors, a creative producer, a writer / director, set and costume designers. Also with the enormous support of the owners of The Commons, 32 Burton ST Darlinghurst, a beautiful inner city Sydney
restaurant, which for one night a week will be transformed into 7
apartments.
The theatre makers are creating something different because we believe in giving audiences what they want to see, something truly different.
The whole company is invested in the work to ensure with our expertise and passion we can overcome whatever challenge we are faced with.
