Chickwich Cuckoos
Logline:
“A Drag Queen finds herself at the centre of a homophobic conspiracy when she’s torn away
from her lover during a home invasion.”
What IS Eat the Meat?:
Eat the Meat is a queer dark-comedy short film currently in utero from the deranged minds of Perth students.
After experiencing a hard day of conservative protests disrupting a Drag Story Time at a local library, Notorious Drag Queen Brianna Splitz and her partner Alex later are attacked at home by mind controlled protestors, wielding fast food chickwiches, SPIKED WITH FREAKIN CHEMICALS THAT MAKE THE POPULACE STRAIGHT AND ANGRY.
Will our protagonists make it out this debacle still fierce and fabulous?
With timely themes through a kitsch lense, reminiscent of a John Waters film, the transgressiveness of Gregg Araki and following the queer genre trend of Australian filmmaker Alice Maio Mackey, Eat the Meat is a fun, gooey commentary of conservative media outrage.
