Our Team
Jodi had the idea for FarmGate Network after buying some great quality fruit while driving through central Victoria, and being unable to track down the producer next time she was in the area. She tried searching online, and quickly discovered that finding local online producers is extremely difficult, as there was no centralised directory of local farms. Jodi and her husband Paul are small producers themselves, and understand the high costs, both in time and money, of running stalls at farmers' markets to sell produce. They decided to develop a platform that would allow farmers to promote their businesses and reach a wider audience. Their objective was to help farmers increase their sales, decrease margins by selling directly to the customer, and decrease administrative costs by being able to make more direct sales. Elena, George and Ben have joined Jodi and Paul to help with business development and to make this idea into reality.
