About the Project
The Wishful is a short film set for release in late 2011.
The Wishful tells the story of Lula, whose childhood trauma follows her through different worlds, where she fails the same test again and again. Abstract and emotive, The Wishful explores the universal themes of struggle, pain and hope in an original and imaginative manner.
The Wishful is a non-commercial project. The cast and crew have volunteered their time and energy into this film based on their commitment to independent cinema and the story being told. Filming was completed in July 2011, however we still have a long way to go. Being shot on 16mm film, post-production costs for the film are high. Money raised will go towards a professional colour grade, ensuring that all of our hard work so far looks spectacular on the big screen, as well as on entry fees into film festivals around Australia and worldwide.
