Morning Venom  is finished and will be released digitally Monday April 1 (emlynjohnson.bandcamp.com). I was thinking of getting a cassette of it made but have decided to attempt this instead: CROWDFUND VINYL! I figure if I can get 100 people to pre-order the record at $30 ish, then there's $3000 to get the vinyl made by Zenith in Melbourne (Record Deal 1: 150 x 12″ vinyl = $2484 + GST )... There's a 3 month turnaround at Zenith so the record will be available September 1 (I've added an extra month). If not, then just a digital release by Bandcamp Records. If it works, maybe I'll do it retrospectively for Contested Mark of 2017 fame. 

If you like Morning Venom (emlynjohnson.bandcamp.com) and want to see it pressed on vinyl, make a pledge of $30 or more and it's yours. (BTW if you buy the album for $10 on bandcamp, and make a $20 pledge on Pozible its the same to me)... All the audio and artwork is done, so I'm asking for cash for manufacturing, that's really all. Maybe I'll need some for mastering for vinyl, so I've made a bit of room for that. 

The cover portrait is done by the wonderful Liam Dee and the graphic design by the enigmatic Roarshark. Sean Gorman mixed the album and Shiny Joe Ryan mastered it. I played guitar and drums and sung and wrote songs and recorded it except for "Toadies and Tricksters" which was recorded by Pat Lockwood at The Metro in Adelaide, with Harry Freeman playing drums.

The appeal of doing it this way is that I don't have to front the capital, I know that I can sell some records, and I'll see some profit from the project that if I went through a label I probs wouldn't. So if I get 150 records made, I get 100-odd Pozible pre-orders, then I've got an extra 50 records to sell... I might make a grand out of the whole project. Not much, but it's a record, music trapped inside a large spinning black circle!
