THE FILM
In September 2012, Writer/Director Emma LaGrutta and Producer Angela Moran will be making FagHag2000, a dark comedy/science fiction short film set amongst the haute bohemia scene of a futuristic Melbourne, Australia.
In the world of the film technological advances have resulted in androids so life-like they can walk amongst the general population undetected. A robotics corporation has spotted a lucrative market opportunity: androids designed to function as the perfect wing man/ woman. With a target market comprised of the socially ambitious and desperately insecure there are three available models: the FagHag2000, the LesBro180 and the StraightMate1.0. The film is centred around two codependent scensters, Casey and Toshie. When their friendship starts coming apart at the seams Casey purchases a FagHag2000 to replace his real-life fag-hag, Toshie.
What could possibly go wrong?
YOUR MONEY
The money raised will be used to create the highly-stylised visual world of FagHag2000 including prosthetics for the title character, set construction for a tongue-in-cheek infomercial, costumes, props, locations, camera and lighting. We’ll keep you posted throughout the final stages of pre-production and into the shoot in early-mid September with pictures and updates in relation to cast, crew and other creative aspects of the film.
