Creator Performer Renae Shadler has created something very special. Polly’s Party is a Cyber-centric physical theatre performance which will premiere at La Mama Court House on the 12^th September 2012 and you can help make it happen.

THE PARTY

Meet Paula: an everyday suburban Australian girl. Paula isn’t special or famous, but Paula has a secret...Polly. ‘I do something good I get Polly. Polly is my treat.’Paula’s online alter-ego Polly spills out into the real world as her facebook universe become reality and you’re invited to the party.

Meet Polly: A pop party diva Polly is jet setting her way to Melbourne to bring her mix of theatre, contemporary dance, eccentricity and new media to La Mama Theatre. Follow Polly’s online adventures as she travels to Australia planning a Lady Gaga inspired, punch fuelled night of entertainment.

Polly’s Party is a cyber-centric physical theatre performance set to Lady Gaga. Alive investigation of self-identity, Polly’s Party is a playful, humorous and touching solo performance created and performed by Renae Shadler and directed by Mark Wilson. Polly’s Party is aninteractive performance experience that investigates how social media shapes identity and unpacks cyber-psychology with playfully disastrous consequences. Join Poly as shefrantically entertains her audience shifting through Gaga dances, party games and craft activities until Polly is forced to acknowledge ‘herself’.

FUNDING GOAL:

It takes a lot of hard work, sweat, tears and money to put together an amazing theatre production; it takes even more to put on an epic ‘party’ as a theatre production. There’s party frocks to create, flashing lights to hire, music, punch, party poppers and a 4 meter by 4 meter ‘Party Cube’ to build and kit out. That’s why we’re asking you guys to help us out and donate a little of your hard earned cash to help us to create this awesome production.

We want you to come to the party, most donations are rewarded with a ticket to either the preview on the 12 September or you could be part of Opening Night which will be an ever so glamorous evening of theatre, Champaign and orderves.
