We are The Main Guy & the Other Guys - a really great band from Newcastle, Australia. We make songs about parties, stalkers at parties, wearing shoes at parties, parties in space, the morons whom refuse to leave your parties, trying to pick up at parties and/or having steamy S&M relationships with horses. We find these things important and understand the need for everyone to be able to hear these songs WHEN and WHEREVER they want to ...not just at our incredible shows.
Now, whilst we live in a digital age, there is no better way to properly present recorded music than if it has been MASTERED on an actual CD, and then served in a really cool CASE so you can touch, feel, smell and hold it. But the truth unfortunately is that we'll be low on $'s by the time we record the songs - so to save HEAPS of time and credit card bills - we need YOUR HELP to make the recordings into CD's;)
FACT:
We will be able to sell said CDs at gigs and in shops, thus make more money to be able to print and press more of them on our own...we just need to get the first lot happening and YOU can MAKE THIS HAPPEN! (Caps-Lock intended)
FACT:
There is no better way to become a party-legend than if you're able to pull out our debut EP at a party and make everyone scream: "FLIP YEAH - ITS THE MAIN GUY & THE OTHER GUYS' DEBUT EP...LET'S DO THIS!!"
SO IN OTHER WORDS we want to ask you to help pay for the MASTERING and PRESSING of 500 CDs. We are offering some REALLY SWEET REWARDS in relation to what you pledge (see right hand column) - you can (of course) secure your own copy of the EP, you can get your name in the cover, you can gain personal time with band members OR get access to a secret track...you can even score a live show at your own party!!
HERE IS A BREAKDOWN OF HOW THE MONEY WILL BE SPENT:
What WE pay for:
Recording expenses: 7 days - AU$ 1750
Hire of Mic's/drum equipment/Instruments - AU$ 480
Awesome guest musicians on recording: AU$200
Mixing costs: Day-per-song for 6 songs - AU$ 1500
Travel to and from studio (Newcastle - Central Coast) with equipment & people over two weekends - $184
TOTAL: AU$ 4114
What YOU pay for:
Mastering of EP: 6 songs at Studio 301 in Sydney: AU$ 660
Creation of a physical DDP Production Master CD (inc postage): AU$ 176
ISRC Registration: AU$ 55
Pressing of 500 CDs w/ awesome cardboard Album Cover, Bar Codes, Booklet and Sticker to warn you about us possibly swearing: AU$ 2000
Pozible 5% fee for this project: $145
TOTAL: AU$ 3036
MAIN REASON WE DO THIS AS A POZIBLE PROJECT:
If this succeeds, we will have the EP ready for release by July this year. If not, it will probably take us about 6-12 months of hardcore gigging to make the money to be able to get this to you. Or a massive credit card debt. We are desperate for the world to hear what we got...and although the world might not know it yet - it's desperate for what we've got!! ;)
Please feel free to check out our debut video clip and first single, PARTYHARD, to get an idea of what we achieved with literally NO BUDGET! Imagine what we can do with a bit of help;)
IF WE for some amazing reason GET MORE than we pledged for, it will go towards making a new video clip for our next single + towards making interesting/whack merchandise & other fun stuff to increase the good times at our live shows!
