Out of the Box Biz is my greatest success and greatest challenge. It is also my third business in eight years and I feel completely honoured and blessed to be able to do what I do best for a living that transforms business professionals’ lives.

I am Fleur Allen, Master Networker and Founding Director of Out of the Box Biz

The ‘overnight’ success we are receiving has been as a result of my 8 years experience in business plus my diverse, professional working life of over 25 years. I couldn’t do what I do today without having learnt and grown on this journey.

This business was born from my concern at the decline of the importance and practice of face-to-face communication in our modern, technological times. (Don’t get me wrong; I absolutely embrace technology, this is why we are here to fast track our online look). Also the business was born as a result of an online art gallery that wasn’t making enough money, a property mentoring business that was funding the art business and a burglary to my home-office that stopped me in my tracks and got me to review my business interests.

As many of you experience in business understand, rapid growth in a young business can put great demands on cash flow management no matter how profitable a business. We are experiencing this common challenge. Therefore it is my intention to catapult this new business 18 months into the future by reinventing our online presence in just 3 months. Therefore wanting to achieve going from 18 to 3! Why? For many reasons as I've detailed below but what is motivating me is this month we unexpectedly won an international Business Award from Ontraport.

But before outlining any further detail here's how this all began:

This journey began only 20 short months ago utilising my greatest passion - building community through business networking! (That's me in the red dress in the first photo below 'in action' connecting people at one of our live events). My aim was to not only provide an income for my family but also to fill a gap in the market for business networking and education and create a business community of a up to 120 members in every capital city. The response has been incredible and within 18 months we achieved the target in Perth, Western Australia. Woohoo!

What that now means is there is a great demand for us to expand to other Australian capital cities (3 years earlier than expected) - this is where YOU come in but more about that in a moment. 


The Big Picture - To provide Out of the Box Biz business communities of business professionals in every capital city in Australia and ultimately globally (but one step at a time). Our first business community I was able to build through business networking and face-to-face contact however to be able to grow from one city to multiple (or even from one to two) our online presence, our use of online marketing tools and our website needs to reflect the vision, mission and culture of the business. Therefore we are needing to FAST TRACK our knowledge in this area within the business and to upgrade our website to the ultimate custom designed project for our existing members benefit and those they do business with.


Currently we are a local brand planning to grow to a NATIONAL (and ultimately global) brand of business communities of 120 members per capital city Australia wide and internationally; comprising of high quality business professionals and business owners. In addition, to have 120 members Australia-wide from outside metropolitan areas for what we do for regional business professionals. The latter here is the real key to our growth from one to many. In that, in the interim we can connect members online until we have enough members in another city to host live monthly events. Therefore, again another reason why our online presence is important. 

Why would you support us? How do you know we will be successful? I know this is especially important to those that don't know me personally which is why I'm including photos, LinkedIn Recommendations and our video includes live footage taken from one of our events describing what we're all about. But in addition, I would like to share with you that in the past 21 months I have been honoured to receive three business awards: Voted 100 Most Influential: Perth's Small Business Community 2015 and more recently The Edupreneur Awards 2015 - Winner (Networking) and ONTRApalooza Success Award for the category of Most Creativity with Technology.




Therefore I have set my target for this campaign at $5000 which will enable me to complete the first of this three stage plan to improve our online presence and ability to communicate in this forum. There are:

($5000) Enable us to take advantage of the latest business award prize which is to attend the international Ontrapalooza online marketing conference to learn to implement online marketing strategies such as landing pages, multiple sequences and automate recurring monthly processes. This will contribute to the online message we can communicate as well as streamline the systems that support these.  The prize includes attending the conference but does not cover the costs to travel to and from and accommodation and living costs while there in Santa Barbara, US. 



For your support I'm delighted to give back through offering either business education with the business books donated by our members and speakers and the opportunity to experience what we do via our live events in Perth or our online membership available nationally depending on the level of support you would like to give.

How The Funds Will Be Used

As suggested already All funds raised will go to the immediate upgrade our online marketing presence:

$5000 will cover all travel, accommodation to attend the international ONTRAPALOOZA conference on 21 - 23 October 2015 in Santa Barbara, U.S. from Perth, Australia plus be able to action and implement knowledge learnt while attending this event to enable landing pages and backend marketing systems to support our team to grow this business to the next 'National' phase quickly.

Plus begin the upgrade of the 'look' or front end of the website. Enabling us full access with live, front end editing to be able to adapt marketing aspects of the website including video and booking links on the homepage for example. It will be mobile responsive, include our blog (instead of being separate) and most importantly the website when you arrive will look like a business community of business professionals that we connect for their businesses to grow.

Should we be fortunate enough to exceed our $5,000 target the additional funds will be used to:

Upgrade the e-commerce shopping cart immediately. This is an essential need as the existing cart is not mobile responsive e-commerce shopping cart which has implications for our website being found in Google search engine ranking and clients not being able to purchase from their mobile phones but computers only. I will provide more detail in this area should we be looking to go over our initial $5000 target.

The Challenges

Time and Cashflow are the greatest obstacles to our online success.

Time because I have had the honour of the opportunity to attend an international online marketing conference in October this year! This has completely taken me by surprise.

So why did I enter the business award in the first place? Because I believe it is important to take yourself as a business professional through the process of at least one award type application process per year because it forces you to look at your own business objectively and gain an assessment of 'where you're at'. 

Therefore, here I am with this incredible opportunity which will bring direct benefits to the growth of this business but I am limited to attend due to running a 'Start-up' business which needs close cashflow management during these initial 2 years of creating and then nurturing the business. So recovering from having 'caught up' from having full costs and partial income when we started in 2014 to now being a viable, profitable business but not yet with the resources to support financial projects such as attending the conference and completing the full website upgrade in 2015.

Private Function

To thank all those that pledge we will host a private function and to share the experience of the US conference and receiving the business award. We will have live internet hook ups with those outside of Perth Western Australia so you too can be a part of the celebrations and hear the presentation.
