Hi - we are the The McMenamins. An Independent Brother & Sister duo from Far North Queensland, Australia. An Acoustic Folk / Roots /Alt Country Act performing together under our Irish surname since 2005. We have released three independent albums over the years to critical acclaim and radio play - toured many times, supported many big name acts, played many major festivals and leading venues.
We write and perform music about our experiences, our lives, our loves, our families, where we come from and where we've been.
We would now like to record our 4th album in a beautiful place with our family and inspiration around us with a great Producer/Engineer/Musician who really cares about our music.
We hope to release this album early next year, supported by a national tour and publicity campaign by Hot Off The Press Publicity (and possibly toured in the US mid 2013 supported by Radio Promotion by Twin Vision NYC).
To do this we need to raise money to help fund the studio sessions.
We have worked very hard over the years creating music and taking it to people in Australia and recently Canada and the US. We have gathered amazing friends and contacts, gained some awards and success in the music industry and in order to utilise these and build on this momentum we really need to create a new product to release and give to the people who have supported all of this work. Including you - our friends & fans.
If we reach our target it will only fund part of the project and if by any chance we go over this target - funds will then be used to master, duplicate, tour and promote the album.
We are applying for government funding and of course will be contributing our own funds to complete this huge undertaking.
We love what we do and we hear from many people that they love that we do it - after many years somehow pulling together the resources to make it ourselves - with both of us having young families now - and the music industry being the way it is - we are now asking help from those who have supported us for so long, and new supporters - to actually make the music happen!
We have already recorded some demos of a few of the tracks that will be included on the album and we have a recording of us performing one of them at the 2012 QLD Music Awards (which we have won 2 of in the past).
