7 young circus artists take you down the rabbit hole into a wonderland of familiar characters, transforming creatures and physical magic.

Alice finds herself lost in a strange and unrecognisable world of Madhouse patients and the members of her own typical yet disfunctional family. The characters of Wonderland are reinvented in macabre circus form, far from the sacharin  Disney and whimsical Burton. Don't be too alarmed, there is some comic relief, after all some of the insane enjoy every minute of it.

WHO ARE WE??? INTRODUCING THE MADHOUSE CIRCUS PERFORMERS!!!!

Phoebe Carlson is a young and vibrant performer who shines on aerials, but has also taken a quick learning to acrobatics and many other areas of circus. Phoebe is originally from a small town in W.A and grew up exploring dance, theatre and circus. She was heavily involved in the community circus 'Southern Edge Arts', where she performed, coached and helped with outreach programs in regional communities such as Kulin, Albany, Bremer Bay, Toodyay and Broome. Phoebe completed her personal training qualification as well as completing Certificate 4 in Circus Arts at NICA. She is currently at NICA undergoing intense training to become a professional acrobat.

Isabel Rose spent the majority of her childhood living on the south coast of NSW in Batemans Bay, performing small shows with both a local youth theatre group and a community circus. After spending a couple of years training with the children's Flying Fruit Fly Circus in Albury, she relocated to Melbourne to complete her schooling at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School while obtaining certificate III and IV in Circus Arts. Now a first year Diploma student at NICA, Alice in the Madhouse is Isabel's first opportunity to be part of a show where the performers are also the creative minds behind the work.

Felicia Lannan grew up on the border of Victoria and New South Wales in Albury and after a few years of gymnastics joined the Flying Fruitfly Circus. After performing in Melbourne late 2009 in the Musical Barnum, Felicia moved down to study at the Victorian College of the Arts and complete certificate’s III and IV at NICA. She is currently undergoing the Diploma course. Alice in the Madhouse is her first performance outside of the institution and her first time directing and producing her own work.

Callan Harris is an energetic and versatile performer with skills ranging from circus and magic to music and theatre. Originally a self-taught entertainer, Callan has actively performed throughout Melbourne and Australia for 5 years. During this time he has been recognized as Australia’s Youngest Professional Street Entertainer. Callan is currently attending the National Institute of Circus Arts where he intends to pursue his training and continue his performing career.

William Meager is a Melbourne based performer who grew up trying a diverse range of sports. In 2011 Will joined NICA for the certificate III course and studied at the Victorian College of the Arts. As a part of this course he performed in the Victorian State School Spectacular and in the Crown Palladium. Will is currently at NICA studying the diploma in Circus Arts.

Rowan Thomas learnt to juggle when he was 8 and just never stopped. Growing up in Broome, Western Australia he learnt acrobatics through school and had his first stage experience with Lunar circus. At the moment his main focus is Contact juggling as well as acro, tumbling on stilts, juggle, roue cyr and working on characters. He aspires to teach circus and preform for the rest of his life.

Ella Rose started circus with the Flying Fruitfly Circus when she was very young. She was involved in many shows with her time there before moving to Melbourne and joining NICA to complete certificate III and IV as well as attend the Victorian College of the Arts. Ella is also undergoing the Diploma course at NICA this year.
