INTRODUCING GARY THE GARBO

Creator Simon Larcey named the garbage truck Gary when his son was 18 months old, as it was easy to remember for his young son who was excited when the garbage truck came. Each week we could yell out his name and wave to Gary when he showed up on a Thursday morning. Seeing how Gary made his son so excited and happy, Dad decided to write a book and give it to his son for his 3rd birthday.

Gary the Garbo and the lost keys is the first book in a series of three books. It's a simple story of Gary and his mate Dave the Dumper, who get sent to the airport on this specific day to help clear the rubbish. When they are there, Mac the big boss calls and asks them to help find some lost keys. The keys belong to Pat the Pilot who is about to fly away in Petra the Plane. It is a simple story that we have shared with many friends and that made Dad's little boy very happy!

We want more kids to meet Gary so we are aiming to raise $4,000 to help fund the publication of 1,000 copies of our first book Gary the Garbo and the lost keys. By pre-ordering the book through one of our selected reward packages, together we can make 1,000 kids as happy as our boy. As part of our campaign, from the sale of each book, we will donate $1 to Geelong Mums, a charity supporting more than 6,000 babies and children in our local community with vital nursery equipment, clothing, nappies and books.

We aim to raise $4,000 which will help fund the publication of 1,000 books - Gary the Garbo and the lost keys 

In the event we exceed our target amount, we will do the following:

If we reach $8,000 we will create a brand new website and market it to our target audience

If we reach $12,000 we will publish 1,000 copies of our second book - Gary the Garbo and the missing footballs

If we reach $16,000 we will publish 1,000 copies of our third book - Gary the Garbo and the surfing dog 

If we reach $20,000 we will create a range of Gary the Garbo merchandice

Anything exceeding $20,000 will go towards the development of a Gary the Garbo animated pilot
