Help Mikala Westall’s Moving On Inc.
After a sellout debut at Fringe World 2015 we are thrilled that our award winning hit Moving On Inc. has been accepted into the Subiaco Independent Theatre Festival, 2016.
But we need your help.
We need financial assistance for the production costs of getting this show up and running! From there we hope that this little gem of a story can get some touring action and really give Mikala the step up in her career that she deserves.

About the show
This show was inspired by a rather peculiar job a friend of mine took when she first moved to Sydney. She was a cleaner, but no ordinary house cleaner. She would sort through and clean out deceased estates. I found this immensely fascinating as a concept- that when you die, the things you leave behind are at the mercy of a stranger. All the memories, the accumulated souvenirs from a life lived. It got me thinking about how we are remembered when we die, and who is left to tell our story. At the time of starting the script, I was also trying to get my head around a failed relationship and the death of a close family member, so the subject matter is incredibly personal for me.
*
“Has a family member or loved one recently passed on? Have you been left with the annoying task of sorting through their worldly possessions? Specialising in the relocation and clean-up of any unwanted items, we take the hassle out of moving on!”
In the boxed-up remains of someone else’s life, Abby and Sam sit and wait. Abby is afraid of dying and Sam is afraid of Abby. But when Ruth returns home to find her life has vanished, Abby and Sam discover that even the living have their unfinished business.
A comedy about love, last words and the boxed-up past, Moving On Inc. asks how we can trust our memories when our world begins to disappear.
“A beautifully realised one act play, outstandingly performed and wonderfully charming.” Stage Whispers

How The Funds Will Be Used
We are lucky enough to have hooked up with up and coming set designer Sally Phipps and to help create her vision we need some money!
Marketing
Having the support of Subiaco Independent Season’s marketing team is great and we have the amazing power team Little Shout helping us out but in order to make the most of this second chance opportunity we needs some funds to make sure this season does not go unseen.
The Challenges
We also have the challenge of dealing with death as the subject matter, a tricky one! We believe using humour as well as sensitivity people can talk, laugh about and deal with the concept of death.
