Death By Chocolate is the story of Fleur, a pastry chef with a dream.

She’s passionate, determined and so very talented. Her cakes are mouth-wateringly delicious and jaw-droppingly beautiful. They are, in fact, to die for - quite literally.

To raise the money to open her dream patisserie, Fleur has been working very hard - as a hired assassin. As her victims choke on her poisoned cakes, Fleur desperately tries to get constructive feedback from them so she can improve her baking. She can’t wait for the day when her customers live long enough to sing her praises.



Fleur only has one hit left before she’s ready to make her dream come true - but when her next target turns out to be her culinary idol, a highly acclaimed celebrity chef, she realises that the triumph she craves is going to be more difficult to create than quadruple layer croquembouche.

Fleur soon comes to see, however, that the only hero she needs is herself, and is able to remove the last obstacle between her and happiness.

Death By Chocolate is a dark and delicious comedy about ambition and the true recipe for success. It's the graduating film from Victorian College of the Arts students Gillian Crosby (Bachelor of Fine Arts Film & TV) and Lauren Jankovskis (Masters of Producing).

Bringing a film to life is always a challenge; and the comedy of Death By Chocolate is extremely visual, so we are going to need a cracking art department to bring it all together, and we want to give them the best resources possible. 

The last thing we want is for this film to look undercooked in any way (pun fully intended). With your support, we are confident that we can use our funds wisely and well to paint a sumptuous picture for you, our audience. 

Our shoot dates are locked in. Casting is underway. The script is finished. Things are definitely cooking, and your help will be the icing on the cake!
