This page is to raise money for a collaborative show by Grace Blake and Danny Wild.
We are looking for funding for two gallery shows in the next year. We currently are applying for a variety of venues in both Canberra and Sydney. We have secured a show in Sydney for late 2014 and a show in Canberra 2015.
Danny Wild is a emerging and experimental Digital/Video/Sound artist living and working in Canberra. He Graduated ANU SOA in 2013.
Grace Blake is a emerging Digital/Multimedia artist living and working between Canberra and Sydney. She is currently a BVA/BA student at ANU SOA.
Our show will be called "All Falls into place." and will pull together a little like this:
" “All falls into place.” is an immersive installation featuring the collaborative effort of Grace Blake and Danny Wild in response to motion, uncertainty and physics.
This will be examined across four separate but interrelated works; A small series of large scale digital prints, a structural installation, a small series of video collages and a sound installation.
The project uses new digital technologies to explore the artistic potential of simulated physics. This technology has been developed for creating CGI animation for Gaming, by using it to create abstract still and video collage we are pushing the conventional uses of this tool. Subverting the implied process of this technology allows for exploration of the hyper real computer graphics and gaming aesthetic.The work not only comes to harness the dramatic Neo-Baroque dynamism implicit in computer graphics ( Ndalianis, Angela. Neo-Baroque Aesthetics and Contemporary Entertainment. ) but also mimic the hyper real and almost grotesque Neo-Rococo style of High gloss, pearlescent and mirror finishes created to render CGI Cars ext.
Using Print and Video, content has been generated using 3D modelling and computer graphics programming. These programs are used to create and capture dynamic moments of objects falling, losing balance, bouncing and being thrown. All content will be generated digitally to create variety of abstract, organic forms rendered in a number of surface textures and materials. Prints will be displayed twice - Hung uniform in frames with tinted perspex and placed unframed within an installation. The installation will consist of basic construction and recycled materials arranged into stable structures and stacks, with each print placed precariously within the structure. Processed field recordings of the materials being physically handled will be amplified within the structures using a myriad of speakers. The installation will be supported by 3d animation displayed on portable devices (old smartphones & tablets). The animations will depict the physical objects and structures in the space. "

How The Funds Will Be Used
This Pozible project will help us supplement our costs. We just need a little help
Bellow is a list of what we need to cover and where funding will go. This is in a list of priority:
- Rent for galleries in Sydney ($350) and Canberra (~$800)

- Opening night drinks (+$100)
- Travel (+$100)
- Personal expenses ie Time and labour (As an artist this is close to $∞)

The Challenges
- The work is yet to be made as our first show is scheduled in late November. Creating work always has its obstacles and because of this there may be compromises to the proposal. Even if both our houses get burnt down, we will still be making work for these shows.
As practicing artists we are both pretty good at over coming obstacles!
