ONLY 3 MORE DAYS - PLEASE DONATE TO SUPPORT OUR WORK AND HELP HEAL ZOE'S BLISTERS - or at least make her happy enough to forget them! Zoe has now completed the marathon and is enjoying watching your donations come in as she soaks her sore feet in warm water - now continue reading to get the whole story from the start...
Organising an international marathon in Bethlehem may seem crazy – it’s impossible to run 42 km without running into an Israeli military checkpoint. But freedom of movement is a fundamental human right so Zoe is running for freedom of movement in Palestine - and for the right of Palestinian children to access education. Zoe is a member of the Sydney organisation,
Friends of Hebron which raises money to support education projects in vulnerable communities of the Hebron region in Palestine, administered by the charity
Union Aid Abroad - APHEDA.
We are asking you to sponsor Zoe with all funds raised being used to support the Dkaika Education Access Appeal.

Please sponsor Zoe to run in the Palestine marathon - she is running for freedom of movement and freedom for education.
Sponsor Zoe so she can support the school transport project
Zoe is asking you to sponsor her run and all the money you donate will beused to support the Dkaika community Edcuation Access project which is a school transport scheme helping young students from a remote Palestinian village through the transition into high school and university.
What is done with the money?
The money will be used to continue paying a driver so students no longer have to walk 7km a rough 4WD track through the mountains to attend high school in neighbouring Al Najadah village. The driver also takes three young women, who have graduated from high school, to their university. If we reach our goal we can pay the driver for one month. If we double our goal we can pay him for two months.
The road to school

Our challenge is to help Palestinian children to succeed in their education even though Israel places enormous obstacles in their way with its illegal military occupation of Palestine.
Military checkpoints make it hard to travel to school.

Families are unable to build permanent homes or access utilities such as electricity or water even when these are provided to illegal settlements next door. For example, the village of Umm al Khair exists in the shadow of the illegal settlement of Karmiel.
Even homes in tents are often demolished by the Israeli military.
