Hi, my name is Isaac Tan and I'm from Singapore. I’ve recently graduated with a Diploma in Business Management specializing in Entrepreneurship and Supply Chain Management.

With a growing number of countries facing ageing population, more elderly are having mobility issues, especially if they are on wheel chair and often requires medical attention at healthcare facilities, such as going for dialysis or medical appointments. Even with personal vehicles and wheelchair accessible public transport, family members are turning to private ambulance operators and wheel chair transportation service operators as they may not have time be with them. Therefore, there is an increasing demand for private ambulances and wheel chair transportation services.

However, my team and I realized that booking a private ambulance/wheel chair transportation service is not an easy task. First timers do not know which operator to engage as there are many operators available and no platform to compare. “Which operator should i book? How much does it cost? Do they provide good service? Will my mom/dad be safe under their service?” These are some of the common questions in users’ mind when they go through the process of booking. As a user, we would want to have the best in terms of healthcare needs. Booking an operator without looking at its ratings is like buying something off eBay without looking at the seller’s reviews. Customers are in risk of getting bad services and being overcharged

Therefore, we came out with VROOM, a free social app that simply aims to ease the process for user to book a private ambulance or wheel chair transportation service.

VROOM has the following features which benefit the users:

-A database which stores user information such as addresses, medical history and drug allergies. Users would not have to repeat these information each time they do a booking.



-Users are able to track the location of the ambulance/vehicle. This would be very useful for users that book the transportation services on behalf of someone as they are able to track if the person have reached the location.




-Prices and rating of the listed operators will be shown. Users will be able to know the quality of the operators and how much will they be paying. This will eliminate the fear of being overcharge and bad services as it is more transparent.


We are currently at the late stage of developing the application and in discussion with operators to be listed in the app.

I am hoping that through this, I will be able to acquire funds, kick start this application and start helping people.

The app is built for the people in Singapore. However, we do hope to be in your country one day, serving you people.

Every penny raised will be used for

1) The software development and coding of the application
2) Marketing activities which will be carried out at healthcare facilities to gain awareness.

1) As I'm still a student and not holding any full time job, money is a problem for me to continue developing this application.

2) There are many transportation apps available in the market, our main challenge would also be staying ahead of them and providing more and more value to our users.  How we intend to overcome this challenge is to constantly looking for new ideas and ways to improve our service in this dynamic landscape. We will always listen to your feedbacks on what you think will further benefit the users. We believe that together, we can craft this app that will help to benefit the wheel chair community.
