Hard to believe that the Melbourne Scottish Fiddlers have been fiddling for twenty years, and have yet to make a trip to Scotland - outrageous I hear you cry! Well, 2015 is the year that we get that monkey off our backs, and Pozible is how you can help make this great moment in our history happen.

We have lots of fiddlers to get across the ocean (44 at last count) and lots of instruments too. We’re even hoping to get some of the fiddles made here in Melbourne nearly a hundred years ago by Shetlander John Anderson back to Shetland. How cool would that be?!

We're very excited to connect with everyone from professional artists to kindred spirits in community groups like ours in the motherland, and we'll be bringing all that knowledge, music and energy back with us to audiences and the traditional music community back here in Australia, who love the music (nearly) as much as we do!

You'll be helping us take nearly 50 members on our two-week tour across Scotland, starting in Glasgow and ending in the Borders, travelling via Shetland! Your contributions will help our many young student players to come on the tour, who otherwise couldn't afford it. We'll be travelling by tour bus, train, ferry, plane and God knows what other kinds of transport. We'll be staying in hotels, motels, B&Bs, barns and really anywhere that can accommodate us. We'll be collaborating with some of the country's best artists, many of whom we've worked with when they've graced our Aussie shores, such as Chris Stout and Catriona McKay, Ross Couper and Anna Wendy Stevenson.

Your generous donations will complement our own extensive fundraising endeavours.

We've been performing across the country, selling our famous merchandise including our award-winning CDs, tune books and our new cookbook featuring the recipes of our fiddlers. We've been busking around Melbourne, we've done some pretty epic sausage sizzles and we've been selling LOTS of chocolates. 

Our long time patrons Bill and Dianne Sides have offered their support to our cause, pledging to match our Pozible fundraising target should we reach it. So your generous donations will really help the Melbourne Scottish Fiddle Club on this veritable adventure.

We’ve always been self-supporting and this is the first time we’ve gone out to our friends, fans and families and asked for help. With a dedicated committee and more subcommittees and working groups than you can shake a stick at, we're trying to make a two-week tour for 44 musicians as smooth as we can. Come hell or high water, we'll get there!

But, If we don’t make our target of $10,000 we will probably cry, and then think of other ways to make money.
