We are a group of passionate filmmakers from Western Australia and we are intent on creating a film that will allow for a positive discussion about the very real issues associated with people suffering from depression and anxiety. We are positive that with all the talented people involved we can make a film worthy of being screen across the world and here at home.

We have been working, reworking and planning this film for over TWO YEARS and are finally in a position to bring it to life and we need your help to do it!

BROKEN WINGS is an independent short film that explores the growing relationship between Joseph and Lena, two patients in a psychiatric hospital.

BROKEN WINGS is designed to be an evocative film that really speaks with honesty and a keen responsibility to portray these issues in a genuine light. Director DANIEL LEE PITCHER is determined to create a film that will resonate among audiences all around the world in his drama and hopes to captivate all those who watch his film.



A film production is a long and arduous process that begins in development - where we develop our script, flesh out the characters and visit locations that are what we see the film being set. Currently it has been almost 2 years of scripting and 5 months of planning that has lead to where we are now. Our producer Jakob Hardy and director Daniel go into overdrive mode to make sure that everything is thought out and planned for the production ahead. To do this we have enlisted the help of our amazing artist Michelle Home who will design our conceptual art and sew the seeds for the look and vision of the film.



Following the early stages of development we move into Pre-Production where we build our crew of talented Perth based filmmakers like our Director of Photography Meredith Lindsay who will play a vital role in he outcome of our final product.

We have been fortunate enough to secure the Peel Manor House in Karnup for our primary location!



In this period we also organize all the fine details of the production phase. This period of intense budgeting and planning is where we establish the extent to which our funds can go. We must consider every small detail from Marker Pens and Rolls of Gaffer tape to location hire costs and equipment rental.

We are currently estimating a mid September shooting period and a total of FOUR days of production. During these days we must pay for food and catering, long distance fuel costs, data wrangling and storage, generator hire and inevitably numerous residual costs such as batteries. During productions of all sizes it is vital that all resources be spent cleverly and efficiently. With every dollar you pledge we will be able to comfortably produce a quality film.

After all is done and the film has been shot we move into the post-production phase where the film is edited and then to our incredibly talented sound designer Talen Herzig who will shape the final product that we will launch to the world.

The final step for the film will be the marketing and distribution of the final product to the world. We intend to enter this film into as many festivals as possible and to do so we require funds to enter. Each festival has it's own entry fee and when entering a dozen maybe two dozen festivals this quickly bottles up to a large sum of money!

And once this is all complete we will gladly give back to all you kind donors in the form of the many rewards we have created so that we can thank you in our own way for the incredible generosity you have shown!

Broken Wings is designed to be a platform to raise discussion into issues that often seen as taboo or difficult to approach in converstation. Our challenge stems further than just the filmmaking component. Our challenge is derived from our goal to create and rouse a movement to help people suffering from depression and anxiety.
