Nausea's Reprieve
Original, commodified, fit for consumption!

Nausea's Reprieve, an absurdist comedy by S>M>E>G.  It's funny because it's hyperreal.  Enter a hall of mirrors, where catching a glimpse of what makes you laugh can make you sick, Then, be given a reprieve from the inertia of a reality defined by security, sales and signs! Come see Clovis Jones' trial of manslaughter by second-hand smoke.  Trade mints in the thrilling climax of a telemarketer training-session.  And never feel the same about going to the the hairdressers again!

Nausea’s Reprieve is an original play with ads.  In three parts.  With songs.  Written James Khoo and co-directed by Sharon Flynn and Ben Razorsex Snaath, the experience includes music by Caught Ship Manor, visual art and design by
Fam Farm and ACAB Collective, costumes and make up by Kat Menze.  The second, next level, theatrical experience from S>M>E>G, the production will play at the Owl and the Pussycat Richmond.

Drawing on Brechtian Epic theater, Nausea's Reprieve is a hyperreal comedy-of-the-absurd for the 21st Century.  Video and music tracks will immerse you in a theatrical world, in which your intelligence is engaged by a pleasantly riotous bombardment of advertising tropes, popular culture allusions and everyday minutiae. In the whirl-wind of Nausea's Reprieve, television, telemarketing and human transportation collide to smooth tunes and winking electric lights.

See the codes of contemporary society magnified and exploded onto the stage like never before. Nausea's Reprieve is a singing, dancing, interactive comedy that knows no gods but those we make. And it's funny.  Did we mention that it's funny? It's really funny

S>M>E>G is a new, independent theater company dedicated to creating next level theater and art experiences. Our budget is not very large and contributions to help up us pay for truck hire, to get our costumes, props and equipment to and from our Fringe Festival venue (The Owl and the Pussycat, Richmond), would be most appreciated, as would any contributions to assist us in hiring lighting!
