Hola Muchachos!!!!

WHO WE ARE:

Dela Caye was born in 2011. That’s a lot of years of Cumbia in Melbourne! The band started busking on the street, hence the name De la Calle (from the street), until 2016 when we changed the spelling to Dela Caye with the Ep "La noche esta Buena" (It’s a great night).

The first songs Dela Caye played were old school covers from the 60's, Cumbias from Colombia, Peru, Chile and Argentina.

Over the years the band has gradually taken on a unique sound, combining Cumbia style with elements from Ska, Reggae, Salsa, Dancehall and Rock and Roll to produce original songs, two of which were recorded on the 2016 Ep.

 ABOUT THE POZIBLE CAMPAIGN:

After many years in the Mebourne music scene, playing many venues and festivals, we want to try our best to step up to show this beautiful city and the world what we are doing with our music. To do this, the band is in the process of recording 9 original Cumbia influenced tracks to make up our debut LP “St Kilda to Tijuana”

However, to realise this booty-shaking, boogie-licious dream, we need your help!

The idea for this campaign is that with your kind support we would be able to help finance the recording, mixing, mastering and printing the album. As you can imagine this isn't a cheap process, but never fear! To make this a 2-way deal we have some fantastic rewards for you!

Our new album will showcase our multicultural members; cumbieros from Colombia, Argentina, England and Australia. We will be working with renowned ARIA winning International musician and producer Nicky Bomba. Nicky has worked with acts such as John Butler Trio, Melbourne Ska Orchestra and Bustamento, and with his help we will lay-down our fresh new Cumbia sound for Australia and the World to enjoy.

As you can see the $8000 Pozible campaign target doesn’t cover the whole process but we have been saving some money from our gigs,  however if we are able to go beyond $8000, all extra money will help us make the launch party as massive as we can. Helping us to pay for;

THE LAUNCH

We will be hosting a huge party nation-wide in September, which we will announce details for in the coming months with early-bird tickets being available as part of some rewards.
