‘Between Trees’ is a film about two teenagers, Luke and Corey, who commit a crime and hide out in a forest until it all blows over. They soon realise they have not packed enough food, and begin stealing from a nearby house in order to survive. Luke’s suspicions about his friend’s sinister tendencies begin to grow, and he must decide whether to escape his company or remain under his influence.

This film is written and directed by VCA Masters student, Jayden Stevens, and produced by Elizabeth Taylor. The film deals with thematic issues of survival, violence, friendship, and morality. As it is his graduating masters film, he has embarked on this Pozible campaign in order to lift the production value of the film to make it the best it can pozibly be (that joke alone should be worth a $5 contribution). ‘Between Trees’ will shoot over six days in July, and will premiere at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) in December this year.

Those of you with filmmaking experience are no doubt aware of the mental anguish and financial strain we go through to get these films off the ground. The money raised through this campaign will help to cover production costs such as sound, equipment, and hiring the professionals that operate them. It will also help us to build props, dress the actors, and cover catering costs so we can feed the hungry cast and crew.
