Ranging from atmospheric 1920s-meets-24^th-century ballads through to future-soul molecular boogaloo, this is music from the future and for the end of the world as we know it - but we need your help to make it a reality today.

The project

THE EP

After writing and performing these songs in wretched hives of scum and villainy throughout Melbourne, Adelaide, Edinburgh and the US, Neon Bogart are ready to hit the studio and lay down some tracks straight from the future to you.

The result will be a 5 track EP called 'Split/Infinity' of original material as well as an extra, EXCLUSIVE EP of cover songs that will only be available to Pozible backers.

For the EP artwork and design, we've teamed up with incredible Melbourne artist Matteaux Lucas.

THE LIVE SHOW

To launch the EP, Neon Bogart will be presenting a 3-night only season at the 2013 Adelaide Festival Fringe. For this show, we have some incredible collaborators on board, including award-winning director Kat Henry, who will be workshopping the project’s concept with us, and electronic music genius Justin Ashworth (from Glasfrosch).

This series of live launch parties will showcase the songs from the EP in a vortex of incredible costume, set and sound design - the more successful our crowdfunding campaign, the more elaborate and awe-inspiring the show.

The nitty-gritty

As a basic rundown of our costs:

Recording & production for the EP: $1540

Pozible rewards & service fees*: $1450

Artwork, design & promotion: $1360

Tour costs: $900

Venue/tech hire: $545

Costume & set design: $350

=$6145 to record & press the EP, tour to Adelaide, and get our amazing rewards to you!

As a relic of a distant past, vinyl is irresistibly compelling. But expensive. As it turns out… perhaps too expensive to include in our baseline costs for this project. But the good news is this: if we exceed our goal of $4000 and get to $6500, we will give EVERYONE who pledged $40+ a 7” single from the album. If we reach $8500, that 7” becomes a 10” EP. Every dollar over our target will go into other costs directly related to this project, such as fancy(ier) artwork and packaging, set and costume design, promotion and distribution costs, and even more deluxe versions of the rewards on offer.

* This includes credit card/Paypal fees for pledges, as well as the Pozible service fee (which helps allows them to allow all of us to help fund our artistic dreams!) and creating, commissioning and posting out all the non-record related rewards on offer

The rewards & postage

To come up with our list of noirtastic rewards, we took it to our fans to ask just what it is that they would want out of a certain future-noir project. And we listened, dreamed up a few more, and finally come up with a list that we’re hugely excited about – in fact, in some ways the rewards are the most exciting thing about this project.

We have included a range of fantastic rewards at any budget so that just about anyone can come and be a part of this project – and of the future.

Many of the rewards are LIMITED EDITION and/or EXCLUSIVE - the covers EP, 'Infinity Split', and the Time Capsules will only be available to our Pozible supporters, while the custom-designed 'Neon Galaxy' necklace, mask, epaulette, poster and comic book/graphic novella are all limited edition.

All rewards are inclusive of postage Australia wide.

International supporters can purchase our CDs or other rewards by simply adding $19 (AU) to the listed reward price.

Troglopunks. Audiodromes. Subpirates and Digital X-ians, followers of the Synaptic Gospels. Welcome to the new citizenry.

It’s the year 2313. Amidst a population of Pacific shoreline refugees, submariners, subpirates, politikinder, troglopunks and other unsavouries, the Digital X-ians are exhorting the faithful to jack into their online avatars onboard the lightCloud, leaving meatspace behind to escape the predicted apocalypse.

In the early 22^nd century, the effects of global warming forced the human race underground, creating a subterranean civilisation that aimed to mirror and expand on the old cities. Under the ruins of Melbourne, a new city birthed from the earth. We call it Cyberblanca. While it’s strictly speaking not allowed, there are ways of getting Upstairs, and believe us when we say that Above is the new underground. In defiance of the hyperstate-sanctioned Audiodromes, a growing number of ol'-worl' jazz-cabaret speakezys are cropping up in the old nightclubs and ruins.

Enter the neon-noir cabaret underworld of time rebel Neon Bogart and sultry freak Lauren Recall, who dream faint echoes of a memory called music which they are determined to make a reality again.
