February 27 2013: Update!

Fresh from our mini workshop tour of the Wyndham libraries, we've got some belated updates for you!

Keeping the zine adventures rolling, Elouise and I were recently in Melbourne delivering workshops, booking the ACT & TAS tour, attending the Sticky Institute's Paper City Festival and the Melbourne Sustainable Living Festival.

While away, Matias Chadwick and Nick Ovens completed the trailer base and have done a full redesign of the trailer. I'm super stoked with it, we now have a lot more room to work with, better shade and we can even project films on the rear wall when it all comes together.

Plans were in motion to launch the trailer as part of the Sustainable Living Festival which coincided with a tour alongside the crew from Better Block. Sadly that didn't come to fruition due to a number of factors out of our control. On the other side of the coin, this has given us time to reflect and review the design that we showcased on Pozible. Check it out below....

So when will the trailer be complete you say? Over the next 2 weeks, we'll be making a super special announcement about it's debut appearance. Stay tuned for updates, website and upcoming tour dates and appearances.

The veggie gardens have been both loving and hating all the rain lately, and the first of the homebrew (a chilli ginger beer) is ready for drinking. Keen an eye on your post box's for postcards coming soon, and we'd love to hear what you thought of the zine packs and any of the rewards landing in your lap so far.

Don’t be a stranger.
Jeremy and Elouise.

The Bizoo Crew hit the road last year to deliver DIY/DIT (Do It Yourself/Do It Together) workshops in regional Queensland Australia. The hardest thing to track down was a venue that suited our needs and was in line with our goals (offering as much access as possible to potential participants). We realised that we could create our own multipurpose venue that we take TO the participants and the concept for the Pop Up Bicycle Trailer was born. This trailer will enable us to continue our work and expand the scope of where we can hold the workshops and invigorate creative communities. Follow our journey and add your own on facebook event page here or #popupspaces

UPDATE: All pledges from now til the end of the project over $10 also receive a FREE Hellhound Hotdog from their food cart in Brisbane (plus you'll also receive your chosen reward for supporting!!)

I somehow didn't introduce my cat Mr Fill in the video.I adopted Fill from the RSPCA, I've actually got a portrait tattoo of him.

To date we've held workshops in shopping centres, at pools, on beaches, mid-skatepark, centre stage of festivals and and on the streets. We are now planning a Victorian regional workshop tour kicking off in November 2012 which will deliver approximately 20 workshops to over 200 participants. This is exactly the kind of project that would be aided by the pop up bike trailer, meaning we can engage with wider and more remote communities.

The original design created by Matias Chadwick and Nick Ovens, responds directly to my original concept. It needed to be lightweight, compact, demountable, easy to assemble, offer shade and seating and be changeable to suit different community needs. The bicycle and materials fit inside the box, and can be taken across country as checked baggage allowing for affordable national and worldwide project destinations.

The Pop Up Trailer is primarily designed to accommodate workshops in zine / independent publishing, bike maintenance, stencilling, gardening and any other kind of skill share workshops that we find passion for.

Concept Designs:

This Pozible is to raise funds for the manufacture and assembly of the first two Pop Up Bicycle Trailers. Our goal is to have the first trailer ready to take to take to a major festival taking place in Melbourne and regional Victoria in February 2013 (event details to be announced).

The Pop Up Bicycle Trailer will allow us to take our workshops to the streets, in an eco friendly and DIY way that allows our pop up workshops to continue across Australia. It also means that instead of sitting in the tour van getting fat between shows, we can jump on our bike, explore the neighbourhood, recharge, stretch our legs and deliver a little unscheduled magic.

Please check out our rewards, we think you'll be surprised! We need the groundswell and backing to make this POZIBLE! (so, so bad). If your as excited as us, and so inclined, sharing the facebook page, or using the #popupspaces on Twitter would help us get the word out.

Once we achieve the $8k for assembly we can look at extra funding for other ideas we'd love to add including renewable energy supply options.

A huge thanks must go out to Fee Plumley, media artist, creative producer, technoevangelist and master mind behind The Really Big Road Trip for supporting me with this Pozible!

If there is a reward you’d like to see here and you don't see it, or if you have some rewards you'd like to offer in support of the project feel free to get in contact.
