On Friday, December 6, our friends at Motto Melbourne were robbed in broad daylight of their entire cashbox which was roughly equivalent to a months takings. This is both annoying and heartbreaking on many levels, and we are hoping that the art and design community in Collingwood and Melbourne can make a small contribution to getting the shop back on it's feet after this unfortunate incident.
How The Funds Will Be Used
All funds received will be transferred directly to the Motto Melbourne proprietors so that they can maintain their obligations in terms of paying their vendors and distributors on time, as well as the hard costs of running the space.
This is not a profit-raising activity - we're simply trying to right a wrong here and pay back to Motto what was taken from them, and to that end, we hope to make this a swift and successful campaign. For every dollar raised above the 1500, we will donate to a charity of Motto Melbourne's choosing - The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre.

The Challenges
In the broad scheme of things, this isn't a huge amount of money to raise, but it represents something more important. If you love Melbourne, and love Collingwood, you know that it's places like Motto that make it special, and it's events like this that can sadly make them go away. If you want to support the shop in other ways, feel free to pop in and buy something as well!

You will actually sleep for a whole year and be reborn as a higher being. This may not be a good thing, but you got to take what you get. Also, you'll get a wonderful Lamington Drive prize pack featuring prints, posters, risographs, and whatever else we can find, including Stuart's limited edition Makeready Readymades book. (pick-up from Lamington Drive in Collingwood Only) Like the top two things, we may add other stuff here as we get more supporters, so watch this space!
