Eight Brunswick Fashion designers have been accepted to be part of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) 2012, Melbourne's most prestigious fashion event. Collection 3056 will be a runway style fashion parade showcasing the work of Anna Cat, a name is a label, Lhords, NMBQ, Jack of Diamonds, Hand Hook Yarn, Neisha and Ella. Featuring internationally renowned live drawing artist, Kellie O'Dempsey, who showed at MONA FOMA 2012. This is a must-see celebration of independent fashion.
This event is part of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW), the city's most exciting fashion event, attracting 100,000 people to over 200 events. An important platform and an expensive one, it can be challenging for independent emerging fashion designers to participate in this event. In response to this, Collection 3056 formed and is the first collective from one postcode to emerge in MSFW highlighting Brunswick as an emerging fashion hub. This event offers these eight designers an opportunity to showcase their work, increase their profile, the courage to sustain their practices and open up a potentially new local market.

The money raised will cover some of the overwhelming production costs for the event
including: venue, runway hire, lighting and sound equipment hire, props, set, fees for models, make up, marketing, photography and documentation. All the people power is given in kind support of this project. Amazing.

Designers
Melbourne born independent fashion designer Anna Cat credits her rich artistic and cultural traditions for her Inspiration & Style. Her designs team up classic reminiscence with contemporary glamour, using jersey silk lace. Intrepidly experimenting with colours and textures are her forte.
NEISHA
Neisha's designs embrace an innate, strong femininity. Drawing on powerful conceptual themes, her collections are inspired by the organic, combining an emphasis on structure and silhouette tailoring with a playful celebration of the female form in all its diversity. All garments are ethically produced in her Brunswick based studio.
Nicole is a Melbourne based designer coming from a dancewear background women’s and men’s lingerie.
New Model Beauty Queen (NMBQ)New Model Beauty Queen has created three distinctive brands, NMBQ, So Forgotten & Ahambu.NMBQ's focus is on mark making and pattern with an eclectic mix of the unexpected and the forward. The cut of the garment embrace the many variations of the human body.So Forgotten is a quirky humorous look at fashion using figurative imagery to comment on popular culture. Ahambu means random in singhalese and reflects a feminine mystique that it's designer brings to an interpretation of fashion.
Jack of Diamonds
Knitwear designer and maker Brianna Read views fashion as a form of artistic expression. Inspired by sculpture and the human form her garments explore concepts of construction and adornment. Brianna’s multifaceted creative practice encompasses design, production and styling.
Pamela McGraw, lives and works in Australia / Austria. Pamela graduated with a diploma of FashionDesign in 2001.
She has a passion for fashion, contemporary dance and theatre which strongly influences her collections. Each of McGraw’s creations is made to be comfortable but flattering, adapting to the flow of movements as well as asymmetrical and floating style lines.
a name is a label is a pioneer in sustainable fashion design, producing environmentally considerate women’s wear since its inception. They design and manufacture all of their garments in the White Line and Black Line in Melbourne Australia from sustainable materials.
Hand Hook Yarn is the accessory label created by Melbourne designer Berri Drum, who utilises unconventional mediums to enhance your décolletage. Materials vary from fine quality Egyptian Mercerized Cotton, Australian Merino Wool, Pure Indian Silk, Australian Hide (Leather and Suede), and various Exotic Feathers.
