Joe Ferguson

Thugs & Terrorists were a young political punk/funk/folk/rock band based in Canberra in the early mid nineties. Centred around the singing/songwriting of Cameron Muir and accompanied by Joe Ferguson on bass & Laurie Agar on drums, the band quickly gained national recognition amongst the punk, feral, environmental activist & other alternative social movements around the country.
Cameron's songs & delivery style were passionate, aggressive & unapologetic with strong political & social commentary.
In 1993 the band released an 8 track cassette tape called 'Demonstration', the limited run of 300 copies sold out within a couple of months & became an instant underground classic. This recording was never re-released or digitally remastered although over the last few years there was talk & vague plans of a Thugs & Terrorists re-union as well as a limited re-release of the original Demonstration recording on vinyl.
The plans for the bands re-union have been thwarted with Cameron recently losing a battle with cancer.
Since Cameron's passing there has been a renewed interest in Cameron's music & legacy and so i have launched this campaign to generate funds & pre sale orders for a re-release of the the bands classic recording on 12" vinyl.

The funds will be entirely spent on the manufacturing costs of 500 x 12" vinyl records.
It costs approx $3,500 to manufacture 500 records with a single sleeve full colour cover.
I'm hoping we can generate all this money upfront with this campaign but if we reach the minimum target of $3,000 then i'm am prepared to cover the rest myself.
I will also be remixing the original master tapes & doing all the audio post production myself for free
and the artwork & graphics will be done by Cameron's widow Kara.

The main challenge with this campaign is getting enough funds to make the vinyl release a reality.
As the band stopped performing together 19 years ago, we are heavily relying on people who remember the band to pledge money. All i can realistically do is push this campaign using social media & hope for the best.
If the campaign doesn't work then the original recording will be remixed & made available for digital download regardless, but I'm really hoping to make the vinyl a reality as a physical memorial of Cameron's life.
