After more than 2 years performing and travelling through some of the most spectacular country around Australia, Johnny McIntyre is hitting the studio to record his third professional release. This album includes a collection of songs inspired by some of the faces and places from along the journey.
How The Funds Will Be Used
All money raised will go towards producing the record. We will be working with some of the best in the business and your generous contributions will help cover some of the following expenses:
- Studio hire $5,000
- Producer $4,000
- Session musicians $1,500
- Mixing the record $1,000
- Mastering the record $1,000
- Artwork $1,000
- Pressing the record $1,700
We've planned 10 days in the studio to complete the record and are hoping to secure a grant from Arts SA for 50% of the budget. If our application is unsuccessful fear not, the project will still be going ahead however the number of tracks we record will be reduced to more of an EP length.
STUDIO
Mixmasters is one of Australia’s premier music recording studios. Situated in the Adelaide Hills, Mixmasters was built from the ground up to provide great acoustics and an inspiring atmosphere, featuring natural materials such as mud brick and timber.

PRODUCER
Paul McKercher has been recording, producing and mixing the cream of Australia's musical talent for over 17 years. He has been awarded five ARIAs and has produced over 50 albums, working with artists such as Josh Pyke, Bertie Blackman, Papa Vs Pretty, Sarah Blasko, You Am I, Pete Murray and Eskimo Joe, The Living End, Something for Kate, Midnight Oil and Little Birdy. An avowed analogue fan, he specializes in the use of tape.
THE BAND
Keith Davis
Instruments: Lead guitar, lap steel, slide guitar, mandolin, electric guitars
Mention you like music to Keith in seconds you be deep in conversation about one of his latest obscure guitar purchases from some faraway place and time with a certain pickup used by a certain guitarist. Or a pedal that was used on some famous recording or a witty piece of history associated with an amp he found in the back of some shop because that’s the kind of player keith is… always searching for the right tone.
Kory Horwood
Instruments: Bass
Kory is an acclaimed blues and jazz double bassist who's creative performances and recordings span three decades. Grown in Adelaide, he has collaborated with many great jazz musicians including John Morrison and performed in the 11th Sydney Spring International Festival of Music at the Sydney Opera House.
Paul Lewis
Instruments: Drums and percussion
Paul has been part of the Australian music scene for over 15 years. Performing with a heap of different bands and playing at some Australia's most prestigious music festivals. He has toured extensively both nationally and internationally and is an extremely experienced performer and studio drummer.
