Thank you! We have reached our goal, but we are still very much out of pocket for exhibition expenses. We are able to keep on going past the goal, so let's see if we can make it to $300!
Jon & Claudio need help to fund equipment costs and gallery fees for a new art show
On 14 November we have an exhibition opening that uses a whole bunch of technology to tell people's stories. We are trying to cover costs for the hire of three projectors and three mac minis, fm transmitters and headphones, gallery fees and installation costs.
About the project
The Conversation by Jon Mark Oldmeadow (Safari Team) and Claudio Tocco
The Conversation is a video and sound installation that investigates the nature of memory and past lives of local immigrants. Three participants who migrated to Melbourne from Peru, Germany and Sri Lanka will feature in the work, reflecting on unique and distant memories of their homelands. The memories explored in the work will be based around themes of sensory experience, natural elements and human relationships.
The exhibition will immerse viewers in the work where viewing will be an active process. Three HD video projections will fill the gallery space
accompanied by multiple FM audio channels picked up by radio
headphones provided. The viewer will have a different audio and visual experience
depending on where they are positioned in the gallery space.
The exhibition opens Wednesday 14 November 6-8pm and closes 1 December at Seventh Gallery, 155 Gertrude Street, Fitzroy. See you there!
Thanks!
Jon & Claudio
