Well not literally smash Berlin but help me get to the 3 month physical performance program in Berlin called SMASH. I've been selected as a scholarship recipient (out of 95 applicants from around the world) to attend the first ever SMASH program... the only catch is that there's accommodation, living costs and an airfare-sized hole in my budget, which is why I'm turning to you for help!

WHAT IS SMASH?
SMASH is a 3-month intensive program in contemporary physical performance from August 19th - November 10th, 2013. SMASH consists of four interconnected training modules, a series of lectures and three practical seminars. The modules look into the evolving meaning of physical performance today as an artistic, social and political practice. I'll attend workshops led by Berlin-based choreographers whilst being given the time and space to extend upon my creative practice and encouraged to share my personal work at numerous times  through out the course. 

AFTER SMASH?
After I attend the 3-month course I'll travel to Dusseldorf, Germany to join Erik Kaiel and his company Arch 8. Erik & I met earlier this year when I participated in a Masterclass led by Erik as part of the Arts Centre's Artistic Development Dance for Young Audiences Initiative. Erik has invited me to join him and his company in Dusseldorf  at Tanzhaus NRW, as Artist Assistant during the final development and premier of his new work, 'connect the dots'. I'll also receive mentorship on choreographic concepts and material I am developing (with intentions for a 2014 Australian performance outcome).  It's an incredible opportunity to strengthen my relationship with one of the most influential artists today making dance work specifically for young audiences. 

WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO?
The money raised from this Pozible project will help to fund my airfare to Berlin plus accommodation and living costs  associated with attending SMASH and undertaking the residency with Erik Kaiel. 

WHAT ARE PLEDGES?
This is an "all or nothing" crowd funding campaign, which means if I don't hit my target of $1,000 in 30 days my campaign does not go ahead. The money you pledge will only be transferred if I reach my goal.
