The Arts Island Festival is a rare and unique opportunity for Indonesian independent contemporary artists to present their work alongside touring international artists. With little funding for the arts available in Indonesia, this festival offers a platform for independent artists to present work and be immersed in festival culture. The drive behind The Arts Island Festival shows the importance of the arts within the community. All artists offer their time pro bono in return for the experience of presenting and touring work. All performances are FREE, encouraging the community to support artistic expression.
