Viola Dana have been invited to perform at the 2013 Toronto Silent Film Festival! Would you like to help get us there?
Following acclaimed live performances of our new soundtrack for the 1926 silent film The General in Western Australia, Viola Dana have attracted international attention. With the 2013 Toronto Silent Film Festival already as a confirmed performance in April 2013, a short tour is being organised for the band to give our soundtrack for The General premiere performances to film screenings in North America. This is a brilliant opportunity for the band to not only perform overseas but also find new contacts abroad which may lead to some exciting future music-film collaborations.
However, for this tour to go ahead, we of Viola Dana need your help. We are aiming to raise $4000 to contribute towards the considerable costs of touring such as airfares, accommodation and ground transport. We would sincerely appreciate your assistance, big or small, towards us reaching our target amount and have some unique incentives to show our love for our supporters! Of course, the rewards for amounts of $200 and over are limited to people in the Perth WA metro area and surrounds....but if this poses any problems for any very generous non-Perthians I'm sure that we can come up with a suitable alternative!
