Kimberley has been on a rollercoaster ride of self funded study in Paris, France, being taught by the best meanest theatre teacher around: Philippe Gaulier. Now to finish off her year abroad she has been offered a place at the biggest, toughest fringe festival in the world! Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Scotland. This is a chance for Kimberley to perform twenty five nights in a row and to get international reviews of her performance. With this experience Kimberley can come back to Australia a very exhausted but happy lady, and will be coming to a theatre near you!
Her show - Solo Act: Part One: 1%201=1...? is a comedy about becoming a solo performer and making a solo show, it is ridiculous and happily, over-dramatically tells the events after 'the comedy duo breaks up.' It is silly, but so silly it is inspiring, the end of the show sees Kimberley yell 'I can do this guys! I can make a solo!'. Kimberley has performed this show at Brisbane Fringe Festival and Melbourne Fringe Festival.
Edinburgh Fringe Festival, August 1st-25th, is the biggest fringe festival in the world, there are thousands of acts performing - it is a tough time to market, produce, and publicize your show aswell as perform every night! BUT the experience is once in a lifetime, thickens the skin and gives you a platform to bounce from when returning to Australia. Australian venues and funding bodies are more likely to work with artists who have practical experience, international connections and positive recommendations from overseas reviewers. Performing in Edinburgh means you need to be on top of your game, you have to hand out flyers for your show for 5 hours a day, word spreads like wildfire when there is a hot new show... to have bums on seats in Scotland will be ever so challenging but a challenge I want to face now. To perform a comedy for twenty five nights in a row, will be completely new, will test the powers of endurance and pleasure as a performer - I will be able to apply everything I've been learning at theatre school.
Also, I don't know when I will be back in Europe again, and desperately want to perform at this festival!
Kimberley needs a minimum of 1000 pound to get this job done, which is roughly 2000 aussie dollars.

Challenges of getting to Edinburgh:
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Currently my funds are at an all time low... The pot of gold I saved from working alot in Australia is damn near empty. I have 60 days to raise the money to get myself to Edinburgh. To perform at Edinburgh has been a longtime dream, I know it will be hard, and it will push me, push my comfort levels, but I know I will come out stronger from it. Any donations will be hugely appreciated, and taken with much love streaming from my heart.
I have some great rewards on offer for those who donate to my pozible campaign. You will NOT be disappointed.
