Lady Hamlet:
Being a woman who loves Shakespeare means playing Juliet and then waiting in the wings until you’re old enough for Lady Macbeth, right? We at hell Shakespeare disagree. We argue that the dilemmas, trials and emotions experienced by Hamlet are not a uniquely male experience. We propose to perform a version of Hamlet with the text slightly altered to make the prince of Denmark a princess. It is set in a modern world not dissimilar to our own except princesses can inherit the throne, and walking around wearing a sword is still a thing.
