From Here To Maternity is an original play about the good, bad and ugly of surviving the first year of Motherhood.
We (Mikhaela Bourke and Lana Meltzer) are both professional actors and new mums. One auspicious afternoon last year where we chatted over coffee (baby free) about what we were going through turned in to an exciting new project. We want to talk about all the 'stuff' that many parents don't talk about or feel bad to talk about. Our play is a series of short sketches both humorous (hopefully) and dramatic (eek) dealing with the crazy reality we find ourselves in after having a baby. 75% of the shows proceeds will be donated to PANDA - an organisation aimed at supporting new parents struggling with post natal depression.

We have chosen the incredible theatre at TheatreWorks in St Kilda. 
We want a really cosy but large space and TheatreWorks is just perfect for us.
Reaching our goal on Pozible will allow is to donate 75% of every ticket sold to PANDA.

Our biggest obstacle is time! 
As we are both working mums, and our director is super busy as the head of drama at Bialik College and our writer is also a new mum it seems literally impossible to get everything done.

The financial challenge we face is if we do not get the sponsorship we are hoping for, or raise enough on Pozible we wont be able to donate much needed proceeds to PANDA. We want this play to have legs to grow and develop and be able to take it to theatre festivals around Australia.
