About the show and us!-----------------

Post Mortem is an ambitious performance and installation art project that is currently in development and will debut at this years Melbourne Fringe Festival. We are ridiculously excited. This project incorporates the skills of multidisciplinary artists Lauren Ruby Redpath, Carly Fern, Cat Scobie, Alex Gellman, Hannah Curtis and Annie Pfeiffer.

Our goal is to create an immersive performance and installation for audience to experience and interact with. It centres around our own personal experiences with death, grief and communication and seeks to present these explorations in a tactile, immersive, and visually engaging way. Death is something we all face, an inevitability that often leaves us feeling like confused children. It is a complex issue for the mind to fathom and we are exploring the emotive parts that challenge us.

A performance set to live music, we want to weave you through the over and underworld of this confusing emotional space and question why it is so hard to surrender to the childlike feeling of the unknown.

During the day the audience can also visit the performance space as if it were an installation. Venture into Little Tengu and experience the visual drama in an alternate way. Its a multi-modal platform to share our observations and promote the healthy discussion of our one inevitability; death.

Why we need your support---------------

We have an incredible team of Melbourne artists who are creating work together for the first time. This collaboration has come out of our mutual respect and love of each other's practices and we are truly lucky to have the opportunity to delve into a subject that fascinates us all. Death is a challenging subject for us but we feel confident taking it on as a group. It is important to us that we constantly work to expand our understandings and creative practice; working within the Fringe world is a great way to do that. It is vital that artists have opportunities to create new work but we do need our communities support. Funding is not always accessible so we would be incredibly grateful for any support that you could offer us!

What we've done already ----------------

We are in development and have been for the past month! Phew, it sure is heating up and getting a bit cray cray.

So far we have secured our venue, our spot in Fringe and donated many hours to the conception and the beginnings of construction for this project.
We have concept drawings for the set and characters and have begun to play with the deeper themes within the show and installation. Building of the set, props, and puppets has begun.
Musicians Annie and Carly have been travelling back and forwards between Melbourne and Daylesford to create the musical stylings for the show.
