THE STORY OF SANS LOVE
A life without love is like…
That's the thought which Lauren Sherritt pondered back in late 2011 when she first imagined Mercy, a young girl with the ability to heal broken hearts by taking away their ability to love. Sans Love takes the audience deep into her world, journeying through love, loss – and ultimately – life. Haunted by a chorus of the loveless and taunted by a world which holds love in high esteem and even higher stakes, can Mercy escape love’s repercussions forever?
Sans Love is a tale of magic, risk and romance that wears its heart on its sleeve…and on the walls. Proudly presented by Lauren Sherritt and Jake Shavikin in partnership with Love Love Studio and Anywhere Theatre Festival 2013, Sans Love is now asking you to become a part of this one of a kind experience.
WHY ARE WE HERE?
In May 2013, Sans Love will be brought to life within the walls of one of Brisbane's best loved independent art galleries, Love Love Studio, as part of Anywhere Theatre Festival. In order for us to give the audience the optimal experience of this show, the Sans Love team would like to raise some funds pre-season to be used on rehearsal space hire, set construction, marketing and festival fees.
We want our supporters to gain as well, so we've made our project rewards specific to experiencing Sans Love. Don't worry, though, if you can't make it to the show - these rewards will still be worthwhile! From listening to the playlist which inspired the script to reading the script for yourself, an exclusive meet-and-greet with cast and crew post-show to having your business' name proudly displayed on the walls of Love Love studio, these rewards are designed to bring our supporters to the heart of Sans Love where they belong.
WHO ARE WE?
The creators of Sans Love form a close knit team of creatives from around Brisbane and across the world. Lauren, Writer and Director, dreamt of completing a project that touched the hearts of audience members and made them rethink what it was to experience theatre. Jake Shavikin, Producer, came on board eager to share this project which stirred his passion with the world. Emma Churchland, Dramaturg, felt the call from the first email to help get this labour of love on its feet. Haidee Gaudry, Assistant Director, has given her heart to this project from day one, taking part in the initial creative development and working with Lauren as the Sans Love world comes to life.
With design by Melbourne based Stephanie Granlund, image design by London based artist Luke Phillippo and production management by Brisbane art business extraordinairre Carlie Dole, the Sans Love creative team is proud to be comprised of top notch emerging Australian artists. Our stellar cast is made up of young actors fresh from training institutes from around the state raring to jump into their fun and challenging roles. Sans Love promises to offer something new for audiences as well as support artists' careers.
