Lauren Simmonds

Flashligh is a live interactive art performance that I am developing for Dancehouse which is in the 2014 Melbourne Fringe Festival. This is my debut live performance work outside of the gallery context and an opportunity for me to expand my visual art practice beyond anything I have created before. The work will feature live sound and movement and present many of my explorations into sculpture and materials and they will be brought to life in the show.

The work is akin to a game of hide and seek between audience and performer. Featuring fluid movement, glistening futuristic sculptures and flashlights. Your subconscious is invited to come out and play.

The work is part of a double bill called Flash/Girl with Bicky Lee.

Fringe registration - $195

These are the total costs for the show and this campaign will help to cover some of these costs.

The major challenge is financial and having the funds to hire the venue, purchase materials, promote the show and document the finished work. This campaign is one of the solutions to this challenge.
