RAVAGE - A Short Film
When a young teacher has a secret relationship with a student she quickly realizes there may be much more at stake than her career...
Thematically and politically, Ravage is a piece about power and the abuse of it. The way we can justify our actions, even when we know we maybe doing the wrong thing, to get what we most desire. The climax of the film is dark and unsettling and will undoubtedly leave audiences with a resonating impression. The climactic shift of power that moves Annabelle from perpetrator to a powerless victim is shocking and disturbing and I am excited about exploring what is potentially a controversial subject.
This short film is part of the 2012 MetroScreen First Breaks program, with a screening of the finished film in October this year.
Although we have a highly talented cast and crew on board, as well as the support of MetroScreen and Screen NSW, we still need more funds to go towards production costs (and catering!) in order to fully realise this exciting project.
