Grateful Salon

Every language around the world has a way of saying thanks, so inherent is this quality to human culture and life. Gratitude is closely connected to being less materialistic, which is connected to better sustainability and community togetherness. It's good to be grateful!
The Grateful Project aims to cultivate gratitude through encouraging people to notice and share the moments that make their hearts sing. No matter how seemingly small, mundane or unimportant they might appear, these moments hold the power to change our minds and lives for the better.

We want to share these moments with a special Grateful Project Exhibition showcasing art and music that makes the heart sing.
The first Grateful Project was a 100 day photo challenge where we (Louise, Bridget and Leonie) coordinated a facebook group to complement the main website. The group quickly grew to over 400 members from countries around the world. It was so much fun that when the photo a day challenge ended, we wanted to do more.
So we organised the first Grateful Salon exhibition and the question that was on everyone's lips? When is the next Grateful Project? So what started out as a one off thing morphed into an ongoing project.

This time round, instead of just a single night, we want our exhibition (planned for early 2014) to go for whole week. And not only that, we want our favourite musos to perform because we are so grateful for music and its ability to uplift our souls.
The opening night in the CBD will be a night to remember, with Brisbane artists Tim Steward, Kellie Lloyd and Glenn Dixon gracing the stage for special solo performances. We'll be videoing the events to share with our international participants. And of course, there will be art, photos and installations on show, though our participants would blush if we called them artists.
And you can be a part of it too by joining the Grateful Project facebook group and sharing your 30 days, and by helping us reach our funding goal! You can follow us on Twitter, We'll be tweeting daily from now til the end of October. Some music!
