Friends of the Blue Tier is an informal group of friends living throughout northeast Tasmania and beyond, dedicated to the protection of the northeast forests.
This campaign aims to raise funds to reprint our Blue Tier 'See it Save it' brochure as well as the Northeast Highlands National Park proposal and also to build seats and a picnic table on the recently upgraded Big Tree Walk on the Blue Tier.
The high quality brochure provides environmental and historical information and promotes six bush walks in the area. The Northeast Highlands National Park proposal delineates an area for protection in the heart of northeast Tasmania, creating a continuous tract of forest from Mt. Victoria to the Blue Tier.
The proposal seeks to end fragmentation of native forest, protect the entire catchment of the George River as well as habitat and food foraging areas for the range of native species living in the area.
The brochure and National Park proposal will be used for promotional, educational and lobbying purposes - highlighting the high conservation values and great beauty of the area while supporting low impact recreational activities such as bush walking.
The bush furniture will be constructed by a craftsman and will complement the magnificent track work on the Big Tree Walk.

For this campaign we hope to raise $3,700 for the following projects:
Printing (quotes from AT&M marketing, environmentally friendly printing service)
10,000 copies of the See it Save it brochure $1,650
100 copies of the National Park proposal $ 750
Bush seats and picnic table $1,000
Pozible fee $ 300
Total $3,700
Pozible campaigns work be deducting the money you have pledged once the target has been met - if we do not reach our target the money will not be taken from your account.
We are allowed to exceed the target amount and any additional funds raised will be used to assist in maintenance of existing walking tracks, the ongoing campaign for protection of the area and rehabilitation projects (i.e. weed removal) within the proposed reserve area.
Friends of the Blue Tier do not give up easily and if we are not successful raising funds through community crowd funding we will no doubt go back to the old ways to raise the funds!
