Synopsis:

Nate and Steve need BRAINS... To help think of survival techniques, to stop an onslaught of zombies from eating theirs.

Nate and Steve Vs. Zombies is an animated web series that is specially written and designed to be interactive. It’s in a found footage style like Rec or Cloverfeild but the plot also unfolds like a Alternative Reality Game similar to Marble Hornets or LonelyGirl15. Nate and Steve are trapped in a house surrounded and infested by a horde of zombies. With your suggestions, they can purge the house of the zombie threat and try to survive until rescue arrives… If it ever arrives.

Prizes:

Because the series is interactive, some of our prizes give you the opportunity to communicate with Nate and Steve, our animated heroes. We are also giving you the chance to appear IN the series as one of the flesh eating zombies! These are very unique and awesome prizes that you wont get investing in other animated productions. We also have merch and swag too!

The Project:

This is a passion project and at this stage the film makers have no plans to keep any of the money we raise. We will use every cent to make 4 episodes and fine tune our production pipeline to create additional episodes more efficiently  Perfecting this pipeline will require; character rigging, creating locations and building a lot of document templates in After Effects and Premiere. Some of this is already is place from our last production Livin' With Steve (which you should check out here.). This new series, Nate and Steve Vs. ZOMBIES!! continues the adventures of characters Nate and Steve.

 

All the money we raise goes straight into the production and not to us. When we've made the series and it is a giant smash hit, we’ll find a way to get paid. Our animation business, Awesome Fighter Animation has some cool projects coming up so we won’t starve to death. If you're really concerned maybe you should offer us some paid work though.

Costs:

While we will work for free, sadly not everyone is so charitable. There are some overheads that come with creating an animated series that we need to address:

Studio Costs - Total: $930.00

Don't worry we already have a studio, we're an animation business after all. The production will last from November 2012 until April 2013, that’s six months and there is rent to pay or we’ll be cast out onto the street by our evil landlord and our studio will be turned into a kitten kicking factory.

Software and Hardware Costs - Total: $339.00

Because the series is interactive, we need a method of animating characters quickly and effectively. We can achieve this by making a puppet rig in After Effects. However to make a good rig we need a few Software Plug-In’s: Auto Lip Sync and Free Form Pro.

Sound Recording and Sound Mixing – Minimum cost: $1000.00

Sound makes 50% of a good animation, but sound is expensive. We have some methods of recording the actors cheap but it’s very important we have a crisp sound mix.

- A Sound Engineer charges around $100.00 per hour that they spend on a production (I know, it’s expensive). We are making 10 to 15 minutes of animation which will take 10 or more hours to mix. We also need to hire equipment for recording the actors.
Predicted cost: $1000.00

Pozible Prizes:  Estimated $580.00

DVD’s, stickers and T-Shirts do not grow on tree’s people. And if they did they would be all barky and gross.

Pozible Fee: Minimum Total: $150.00

If we meet our target the good folks at Pozible will take 5%. Which I suppose they are entitled to for setting up this beautiful website.

Leftover: $1.00

This will probably end up going into that darn sound mix.

We plan to make as many episodes as we possibly can as this is an on going project. However we will make a minimum of 4 episodes, each 3-4 minutes in length. We plan to make more as these 4 episodes are to put an efficient pipeline in place that will allow us to make episodes on a regular basis.
