Hi folks! Loren Kate here! Its been a big few years since I recorded my last CD, "Your Own Little Ocean" whilst pregnant with my gorgeous bundle of love, Cedar Bee. I took some time off when she was born, then came writers block....
All my creative energy was flowing in other directions... sewing toys, colouring in, making up stories and singing silly songs about possums and kangaroos. It took a while for me to start writing again, and to find creative balance... but i did find it! I have new songs, and i cant wait to share them with you!!
Songs of love, loss, motherhood, travelling, teddy bears and fairy wings....Its going to be really special.
I will be working with acclaimed producer/engineer, Paul McKercher. Paul has worked with artists like Sarah Blasko, Augie March, Pete Murray and many more! I met Paul at the 2012 Song Summit conference in Sydney. He was on the Panel for the "listen to the music" session that one of my songs was chosen for. I was very impressed with his ears!
Some of the incredible Musicians who will be featuring on the album are....
Mel Robinson on cello! Mel has worked with many Australian artists including Tim Rogers, You Am I, Washington, The Audreys and John Butler Trio. She amazing!
Iain Grandage on piano! Iain has played with the WA Youth Orchestra and the WA Symphony Orchestra. As a performer, he plays in the funk cello band wood, contemporary ensemble Pi, and the Australian Art Orchestra. He's a genius!
Charlie Jones on drums! Charlie is a multi-instrumentalist. He has played in various bands including Double Entendre and Ensemble Formidable, currently he's working on a permaculture ukelele project and helping me be organised!
Sarah Humphreys on backing vocals. She has the most gorgeous voice i've ever heard.

I aim to raise $15000, this will be used for studio hire/production/recording/mixing/mastering/ artwork/pressing/paying artists etc etc... Its the minimum I need to make this album happen. The studio hire itself will cost approximately $8,000, add production costs, paying the musicians, mixing, mastering.... and we're already at $15000...in reality, it will cost at least $25,000.... so any extra $ received will help enormously!!
I've put together some reward packages for your donations; handmade toys, organic cotton t- shirts, phone calls, house concerts, b-sides, handwoven hemp necklaces... you can even sing on the album!! But most importantly you can pre-order the new album right here, and have it delivered to your door step as soon as its pressed! Its all up to you...
