Hi all, welcome to my Pozible campaign! And thank you in advance if you feel that you can help me to finish off the new CD and be part of getting my new songs out there!

I have been writing and performing for 37 years, and have been described as an influential figure in the development of contemporary Indigenous music. I have recorded two albums previously, Yil Lull and Nunga, Koori & A Murri Love. “Yill Lull” the song from the album of the same name has been covered by many of Australia’s best-known recording artists. My music has taken me across Australia and given me the opportunity to perform in many countries across the world. 

Since moving back to Queensland (my home country) last year I have been enthusiastically writing new songs — I have nine songs for the new CD — and have started recording in a great local studio called Big Note Productions run by the very talented Jennifer Matthews and Paul "Smudge" Harris, (pictured above) - really loving this very positive experience.  After spending most my career in Victoria I wanted to perform and collaborate with local musicians. The nine songs are stylistically diverse — I have included two traditional songs in language, songs that speak to environmental concerns, standing up against injustice for our brothers and sisters here and our neighbours in West Papua, an original gospel song and hip-hop didjeridoo.

My goal is to take the new music on tour, heading north from Brisbane, and including both mainstream venues and communities such as my own community on Palm Island and on to my grandfather’s country in the Torres Straits.  To record a new CD represents a new beginning on my journey. 

Four days studio costs : $3000

Printing and packaging: $750

Total: $3750

I’ve made a great start on my latest CD titled North, South, East & West with 14 days recording  time paid for up til mid October – I would be grateful if you would support me to fund the final 4 days of studio time and the printing and packaging of the CD. The challenges for any creative person is to be able to bring their passion and dream to fruitition and the main stumbling block is always financial hardship. I know that with the support of friends old and new that I will achieve my goal.
